L0 kernel
Phonology and tone belong at the bottom.
The BantuOS kernel compiles typed morphemes into valid surface forms. It validates syllable legality, applies phonology, preserves traces, and treats tone as structural because tone changes meaning.
Kernel contract
compile(morphemes, cartridge, mode)
Compile typed morphemes into valid surface forms with syllable, tone, and trace output.
The first prototype should be deliberately small: syllable parser, phonotactic validator, selected nasal assimilation, selected glide formation, and a required tone slot in the trace.
Tone-aware syllable
sigma -> (Tone)(N)(C)(H)(G)V
V is the nucleus. The nucleus is the tone-bearing position.
